CFS has learned that the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has completed its environmental assessment of genetically engineered salmon -- likely the last step before approval of this first-ever GE animal. If this approval is not halted, these GE fish will be among the millions of salmon that currently escape from open ocean pens every year and compete with wild salmon. As such, the approval of this GE salmon would likely be the last blow in the final decimation of our wild salmon stocks, currently on the brink of extinction.
As we have been many times before, CFS will be on the front lines to stop the approval of this GE fish. And with your support, should FDA approve this fish, CFS will be there to challenge the approval in court.
