Center for Food Safety Vows to Help Defend Vermont from Unfounded Attack on GE Labeling Law

June 13, 2014

“Center for Food Safety stands with the people of Vermont and Americans across the country. We will vigorously defend this legally sound and important law from GMA’s irresponsible attack,” said Andrew Kimbrell, executive director of Center for Food Safety. “These multinational food companies already label genetically engineered foods all over the world; yet, rather than comply with the will of the state of Vermont, they insist on filing anti-consumer lawsuits to keep people in the dark. As we have for two decades, Center for Food Safety will do all it can to protect the public’s right to know what is in their food.”

“Center for Food Safety is committed to pursuing mandatory GE labeling across the country until every American is assured the right to know what is in their food,” said Kimbrell. “Transparency in a sector that is integral to our lives every single day is absolutely essential.”
