What We Do |
CFS engages in a wide variety of public education and outreach efforts. CFS publications are distributed to over 350 co-ops and health food stores, and can be found at sustainable agriculture, environmental, health and wellness, and social justice conferences/rallies around the country. CFS publications can also be found on our website. We encourage you to download, copy, and distribute these publications free of charge. In addition to our standard publications, Food Safety Review and Food Safety Now!, CFS has a series of consumer guides on some of the most important food safety issues, including mad cow disease.
CFS is engaged in an ongoing project that monitors global regulations for genetically engineered crops and foods. The product of this unprecedented effort is a map illustrating these worldwide initiatives, in addition to a comprehensive list that is updated monthly.
We also have available PowerPoint presentations on a wide variety of food safety issues, including genetic engineering, organic food standards, and bovine growth hormone (rBGH). Please view our PowerPoint Presentations to use one of these for your own outreach efforts.
CFS legal and outreach staff regularly travel both nationally and internationally to give presentations at conferences, symposiums and schools. Contact us if you would like a member of our staff to present on any of our issue areas, or if you would simply like to receive publications for distribution at an event. Availability for presenting will depend on staff time and travel expenses; however, we are committed to educating the public about these important food safety issues, and will attempt to present when and where we can.
