Center for Food Safety vows to hold strong in the wake of monumental presidential election

WASHINGTON— The results of yesterday’s historic U.S. presidential election will have far-reaching implications for all aspects of American life, including the Center for Food Safety’s work to protect our food, our farms and our environment.

The following is a statement from Andrew Kimbrell, Director of Center for Food Safety:

“For 20 years our organization has been dedicated to creating a safe, sustainable, organic and humane food future. We continue to fight every day for a food system that benefits our health, our local communities, our farmers and the natural world.

“In light of the election results, it is important for all of us to remember that the work of the food movement affects everyone – it is not a partisan issue. However, in the coming years our efforts, and those of our colleagues in the food movement, will no doubt face many challenges from the incoming administration, especially given their denial of climate change and hostility to environmental regulation.

“We will be tenacious in meeting these challenges and will work tirelessly to expand the scope and effectiveness of the food movement. We look forward to continuing to work with all of our colleagues and members to sow the seeds of equality and sustainability.”
